I would like to share my story with you and I hope you will find it newsworthy. Almost immediately following the death of my father, I realized that the somewhat odd behavior my mother had for some time was Alzheimer’s disease. My parents are holocaust survivors so a lot of her paranoia and anger could easily be mistaken as a result of living with this traumatic experience and was not associated with Alzheimer’s until it was in its later stages. From what I have learned about this disease, this is not unusual. Often a traumatic event triggers symptoms so that they are more noticeable. The drain being a caregiver is really overwhelming. I own an optical shop and many of my customers could see the stress this was having on me. We got to talking and they shared similar stories about caring for their elderly parents. They were worried, guilty and frustrated that they weren’t doing enough, exhausted…from taking care of their parents (sometimes flying somewhere else) and torn that they still wanted to enjoy their own lives while confronting their own aging and the possibility that they may develop Alzheimer’s also. This inspired me to create Renee’s Readers.
Renee’s Readers are high quality reading glasses designed in wearable, on trend style with attention to the comfort features so many of my customers were searching for in their reading glasses. Sharing their stories on aging further inspire me to name Renee’s Readers after them, since their personal style and attitude although unique to them describes so many of us as we get older.
Please go to my website more information is http://www.reneesreaders.com/ and my press release http://prlog.org/11881386
Your attention would be appreciated and help support my pledge to donate a portion of each sale to benefit Alzheimer’s research and support services. Thank you very much.
Sincerely, Renee Bachner

Hitting 50 should be the start of something, not the beginning of the end.
