The Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise Nap
Do you just love to feel rested? Financial women take care of themselves and their money so they can be healthy, wealthy and wise! Wellness definitely involves a good night’s sleep, as you already know. As women, there are times in our lives when we just can’t get enough sleep, due to children or work schedules, but I am now in a life phase when that is usually just no longer a valid reason (except for teens occasionally stomping around late!)
Last night, I tossed and turned before I finally dozed off. I definitely brought this problem on myself with a late Sunday afternoon nap, followed by a cup of my favorite tea after awakening, to overcome the drowsiness from the nap!
I thought about how we do things that sabotage what we want to create in life. I know for certain that I want to feel rested and healthy, and I need to have habits that will accomplish this. Money habits are the same as health habits. It is just as easy to sabotage wealth accumulation efforts as it is other areas of our lives. Instead of late afternoon naps and tea, the saboteurs are:
- Neglecting money management
- Avoiding monthly cash flow calculation
- Buying unnecessary items with little worth that require credit card debt
- Not protecting our investment accounts by limiting risk
- Allowing others to completely manage our money without monitoring it
- Not learning the basics about investing money
This short list should get you thinking about your money habits. Do any of them look familiar?
I’ll end with one of my dad’s favorite quotes that relate to both wellness and money: Go to bed early, get up early, and save money! These are definitely good habits for being healthy and wealthy. Are there any old money habits you want to change in order to create the rich life that you want?
