Little boys grow up to be men.

This is a sweet visual reminder of how quickly our little boys grow up to be men. It was not so long ago that my son left his hand prints in a stone along the walkway at the Austin Nature Center. Time flies.

Right – and I’ll bet your son treasures that memory – plus the chance to revisit the site.

I recently saw my 38 yr old son has his old MelMac kindergarten or 1st grade project-painted dinner plate in his kitchen cabinet here today – near Zilker!

(Do you’ll remember those treasures your kiddos brought home? Now THEIR kids are creating the modern version!

I think our family first with the grandboys was a really NICE metal go-cup with his hand-painted image (butterfly) somehow superimposed upon it really artistically.

He was even able to wait for us to see it when we unwrapped it at Christmas. He was FIVE and plenty proud of it and the fact he made ALL his main Christmas gifts that year.

Wow…what a great picture, Susan. I didn’t know Jess when he was that young but I remember when he started at LTMS. A great reminder of how quickly Andrew is transforming into a young man (not to mention the rising cost of the grocery bill!). I would love to see an article on your thoughts about mother/son relationships, especially after they become young men.
