Glamour-ous Reality

I just read a new article from Glamour magazine. Seems like they have finally focused on reality for a change, featuring a beautiful shot of “normal” women. While they don’t seem very “plus-sized” as the article tags them (anything over size 0 or 2 is considered a plus size-yikes), I am overjoyed to see hips, tummies, dimples and rolls on these absolutely gorgeous women. What took them so long? Can it be that feeling good about yourself and radiating inner beauty trumps looking like a twig? Can we finally feel confident in who we are, even if we have stretch marks and a little tummy roll, instead of longing to look like a size-2 super model? Time to celebrate true beauty–grace, humility, compassion, gentleness and vibrant love–even when packaged in a body that is not perfect, at least by the world’s standards.
Cheers to my fellow “plus-sized” friends, all you over-size-2 women who are truly beautiful in so many ways!
